So then…what happened to the animals on the GI Joe set?

Last night at work I watched “G.I. Joe: Rise of the Cobra”. I had seen the film in the theater but thought it’d make a great actiony film to keep me awake on my long, slow night shift.

At the end of the film, the credits are rolling and I was casually browsing news headlines when something actually caught my peripheral vision…

You know where it usually says “No animals were harmed during the making of this film” in the credits?

G.I. Joe makes no such claim. The wording caught my attention:

“American Humane Association monitored some of the animal action. No animals were harmed in those scenes.”

I had to back it up and pause to stare at it. `monitored *some* of the animal action’ and ‘no animals were harmed in *those* scenes’.. ? What? What the hell does that mean? What about the other scenes in which they were not monitoring? What happened then? What an odd (and somewhat concerning) statement. They make point to specifically say that no animals were harmed during the scenes that the AHA were monitoring. And there’s a great silence about any other scenes, I guess.

?? o.O
